First look at Dx2

Yesterday on 22th January 2018, SEGA have released Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei : Liberation for Android and iOS. What makes it so special are this is the first new SMT game that made it to Android/iOS device. I'll make some quick reviews about Dx2 on this article so SPOILER ALERT.

Dx2's Main Menu
Right now, the game are only available on Japan and of course it's in Japanese but don't worry cause SEGA had announced that this game will be localized for Western markets so if you don't understand Japanese, you can wait for Worldwide Release or if you want to try it now, you can download it from QooApp (Android) or using Japan App Store Account to download the game from App Store (iOS).

Dx2 first time launch screen

You will be greeted by this screen for first time launching this game, the game will download approx. 60-80 MB worth of game files, but you can download all game assets worthed 800 MB if you want to speed up loading times.

Dx2's main menu
This are the game's main menu, displaying your current demon roster. For those who don't understand Japanese well, it's not hard to navigate the menu once you know what each icon means and the menu looks clean for me.

Dx2's Story Map

Here's the story map, pretty much self explanatory. There's Energy system which is common for mobile games but i'll tell you that the energy they give are not too stingy, in fact you can stockpile your energy when you're leveling up your PLv (Player Level) early game so don't worry on running out of energy.

Speaking of gameplay, you'll find something familiar like SMT's signature battle system, Press Turn and it's still the same system that used on Nocturne (play some Nocturne and GIT GUD, you skrub). MP are charged at rate of 3 MP/demon's turn so don't worry about running out of MP. And there's Auto and Speed button on the upper right of the screen so if you want to grind without interacting with your device then you can do it.

I can't speak much on other feature cause it will make this article super long, but i'll make some insight about it, there's still Demon Negotiations (although it won't be occurred too often), Demon Fusion (yipee), AR feature (will be added later), Demon Summoning (it's Gacha based but don't worry, SEGA aren't EA yet). and more to cover.

You wonder on how well this game are running on your Android device? Well i've played Dx2 using ASUS ZE500KG (with Snapdragon 410 processor and 2GB of RAM) and there's lag everywhere, sometimes smooth but it's still playable although it's unpleasant experience for me. This issue are lingering the game and make this game only got 2.5 stars (as this article being made), very bad start for 1st day of launch, i hope they will giving us "Buttery Smooth Experience" from the moment that you opened the app at Worldwide Release.
oh uh...

The good thing is this game are reminiscent of what SMT games should offer like Press Turns, Demon Fusion, etc. The bad thing is that lag are the issue especially for low end device that using Snapdragon 400 processor series or it's equivalent.

So what do you think? do you want to download this game now or wait for Worldwide Release? that's your choice. And before i close this article, i'll promote a Discord Server (i'm not getting paid by the owner, blame him for that lel), join "Jack Bros Appreciation Society" for everything ATLUS discussion at this link (https://discord.gg/73Dyv2E). Also, add me in-game using my friend code (NWR8H4P9). See you in-game.

UPDATE : I forgot to cover Energy System so I added them, and I removed some unnecessary text on this article.
