Command and Conquer Rivals: Efforts to Enter Mobile Platform

Command and Conquer, a franchise that lasts for 10+ years and most of the entry are PC games now has a new entry. Surprisingly, it's a mobile game. Personally i haven't played any of previous games from the franchise. I can compare to Shin Megami Tensei series that has a new entry for mobile platform recently (Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation, my review on JP version are in previous post).

This game took place on "Tiberium" universe where UN-formed "Global Defense Initiative" (GDI) fight against "Brotherhood of Nod" or "Nod" for short. Because of that, we saw playable commander from "Tiberium" universe like Kane back into this game.

I picked up the game 3 days ago and i sideload the APK (download for Android from here). My experience as of gameplay are fun, fast paced just like what a mobile game have these days. I can spend 10 games within 30-40 minutes or so and the game still have RTS element similar to previous PC entries but optimized and redone for mobile.

How about progression? I know many are asking this because 2 reasons: 1) It's EA; 2) It's a mobile game. I can say that Redwood (dev team behind this game) really cares about game balance and possibly on-par with Clash Royale. Again, 2 reasons (an opinion from me): 1) They want to make this game eSports-ready, hence why they recruit PlayoffBeard that just left SEMC months ago; 2) It's Nivmett behind the balance, i can feel how he balance Vainglory back then, and he left SEMC just weeks ago to join Redwood. Until now, i didn't feel EA trying to make this game P2W or putting some content behind the paywall like usual (you know, Battlefront 2 and FIFA?).

So, my general consensus? The game are pretty much polished despite being Pre-Alpha, many bugs that expected on Pre-Alpha are ussualy non-game-breaking (at least from what i experienced) and it's F2P friendly because every unit has a counter, so feel free to play the game without fear getting crushed by paying players.

That's my quick summary, if you played C&C Rivals, you can add me from picture below and feel free to join our guild "We Are Nivmett" (yes, it's named after the devs at Redwood).

P.S. If any employees from Redwood read this, i want PlayoffBeard and Nivmett to be featured on your dev stream (if any), thank you #DreamTeam.
